ENSURING YOUR VOICE MATTERS
This year will be a critical year for populations of every scale. The 2020 Census will determine the amount of federal funding we can expect to receive for the next decade, and the results of the 2020 elections will determine who advocates for our community’s health care needs at every level of government.
AltaMed, in collaboration with health centers across California, will promote full participation in the upcoming census and elections. As a member of your own community, it is your obligation to get involved, stay involved, and make your voice heard to the extent possible. Health care is a consistent political target at both state and national levels. But the support we build for health care during the 2020 elections will become a powerful base for advocacy between election cycles. Please do your part to build that support. Thank you.

AltaMed Health Services
From the humblest of beginnings, we've worked with world-class health providers, community activists, and visionary leaders to create a community health network that truly represents those we serve.
A: Access to responsive political representation and adequate public resources requires a unified voice. Our civic engagement campaigns work to educate and organize the communities served by AltaMed's public health clinics to understand critical issues and empower them to challenge disparities in opportunity.
How Does My Vote. My Health. Work?
A: My Vote. My Health. is dedicated to increasing voting rates and census participation among our target populations. We host educational forums, organize phone banks and canvasses, train our front line health care staff to engage our patients, and share these practices with other public clinics across California.
What Are Your Results?
A: Since 2018, My Vote. My Health. has contacted more than 1-million California voters through our non-partisan get-out-the-vote campaigns. In many target precincts we have seen voter participation increase by more than 400%.
What Are Your Plans for 2020?
A: In 2020 we have launched large-scale phone and door knocking campaigns in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego and Alameda Counties for the March 3 Primary Election. We are currently promoting census participation through phone banks, social media and texting campaigns. We will return to large-scale, non-partisan GOTV work across California in the run up to the November General Election.
How Can I Get Involved?
A: If you would like to be part of our educational and mobilization efforts, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call (323) 531-7741.
